Description:
This is a 42" model of a shrimp boat that I built for my son. He and I build model boats together and in the past we cut all of our parts by hand. Last summer we built a cnc router so that we could speed up the process and make the parts more accurate. Materials needed for the frame consists of a sheet of 1/4" plywood or MDF for the ribs of the boat, also you need a piece of hardwood that is 3/8" thick for the keel. There is a lot of detail in the boat. The inside of the cabin is equipped with a full kitchen. Cabinets have miniature raised panel doors on them. The captains quarters even has a shower stall installed. I have 50 .DXF files for various parts that I have drawn for the boat. They are available
HERE All of my parts where drawn in Flexisign, exported to Artcam for tool pathing and output to MACH 3 for cutting. My son and I enjoy building things together. Boat building incorporates all of my skills and knowledge that I have learned over the years, and I am happy that I am able to share that with my son.
did you have a file for the deck?
I have built this model from paper plans a few times and in different sizes.
Always liked this hull design.
Thanks
No I do not. I drew the deck out by hand.
